Travelling through taste – take a trip with the HelloFresh team October 19, 2021
It’s been a LONG time since we’ve travelled abroad but it doesn’t stop us from dreaming. Whether it’s Hawaiian sunsets or Tokyo nightlife you’ve been fantasising about, at HelloFresh our creative Culinary team have been hard at work so you can enjoy a well-earned vacation… via your tastebuds!
Our NEW Taste Tours recipes have been designed so you can take your dinner to new destinations with exotic flavours and exciting twists. Each meal comes with a delicious main and either a side or starter to complete the experience.
We asked some of our Recipe Development team to tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind the new recipes and boy did they deliver! So fasten your seatbelt, put your seat in the upright position and get ready to tick off some bucket list cuisines…
First stop is the Mediterranean coast with our Sicilian Style Salmon & Herby Caper Sauce with Panzanella Salad & Roast Potatoes
Vi: A particular desire for Sicily (Italy’s Mediterranean hugged island) and its expertly nurtured capers, spurred this lively meal into our recipe brainstorming. A tear of basil and creamy goat’s cheese confirms our minds-eye spends more time in Italy these days than in our Sydney test kitchen.
Next, we’re taking a trip to China with the Char Siu Pork Belly & Sticky Eggplant with Ginger Rice & Peanuts.
Helen: This dish was inspired by my long time desire to travel to China. What’s more classic than Char Siu pork belly; the signature dish of Cantonese cuisine? The sauce is sweet and savoury, while the pork is tender and juicy. Paired with sticky eggplant and fragrant ginger rice, this dish will bring a bit of classic Chinese cooking to your table, without even having to leave the house!
Finally, get transported to the Nordics with Swedish-Style Pork Meatballs & Creamy Bacon & Dill Sauce with Garlic Greens, Cheesy Mash & Cherry Sauce
Jenny: IKEA can only take you so far, and whilst layers of fresh white snow in the serene far north does seem beyond distant, this creamy meatball and dill driven meal gives a glimpse of the peaceful Nordics, (without a need to go and buy flatpack furniture).
